June 4: We were invited to plant a flower at Crouse Hospital's baby memorial garden in memory of Megan.  (Emily enjoyed watching the buses go by and catching the wind on her tongue!)

June 8: We went for a walk at Onondaga Lake Park.  Emily sat just a few feet from dozens of geese and their young babies, without even seeing them!  (She would not sit on the grass, so it was a good thing there was a changing pad in her diaper bag!)

Mommy is SO funny!

June 21, 2004: Emily and her new friend, Nya (9 mos. old) played together at Penny Schafer's house.

July 1, 2004:  Emily couldn't wait for me to answer the door, and decided to "finish" her lunch all by herself!

July 2, 2004: Isabella (22 mos.) came to visit.  It was so much fun playing with her!

July 3, 2004: Enjoying the "Independence from Crouse Day Party!"

I made a special cake for Emily's party.  It had an angel (to remember Megan) and a rainbow in honor of Emily (because it takes both rain and sunshine to make a rainbow) and said, "May all your dreams come true, Emily."

We decorated the tents with a banner that read, "See how I've Blossomed,"  and hung SEVERAL yellow and white flowers that each had a "milestone" (i.e., First time wearing clothes, 2 pounds, etc.).  It was so neat to see all that Emily has accomplished in a year's time.

We had at least 70 people join us (from all over--Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, and even North Carolina).  It was so nice to see everyone!!  We had so much fun, we forgot to take pictures!!  So, here are a few that we do have:

Aunt Anne, Uncle Hub, Morgan, and Mason

Uncle Jim, Aunt Marie, Michelle, Sara, and Mike

Dave, Summer, Janet, Christine, and Dave

Lynn was Emily's (and our) favorite nurse!!  It was great seeing her and her family, Ella, Sophie, & Terry.

See how Emily is clinging to Daddy's shirt?!  Maybe she has been listening to us after all...."Boys are yucky--but not Daddy!" We have a special place in our hearts for Tyler, as he and Emily have been through many of the same trials.

July 5, 2004: "Playing" with Legos.  Emily likes knocking down our creations!

July 17, 2004: Emily loves to play in her new ball pit!

July 19, 2004:  Emily's first swim!  Emily's physical therapist bought her this great little pool.

August 18, 2004: Emily LOVES her new shopping cart!  She uses it to practice pulling up, and can take steps forward (holding on) with help.  Now we need to  get her toes opened, and her heels down! (Mommy's a real slave-driver!)

August 31, 2004: Emily could spend the entire day in her therapy swing!

Always on the move now!
